James, great to hear from you. I've been lucky so far where dust is concerned but the NiSi filter tube sounds a good idea. I'll have a look at your Substack later.

Nice shots! I use a GRIIIx for my "I just need a camera handy"-type situations. I added the NiSi filter tube to it so I can add filters to it, and it also seems to get rid of the dust-on-the-sensor problem.

GR IIIx, I'm so jealous! I've got an old GR IV (the previous series) and a GR II is my go-to (before the wifi feature came along). Love those cameras.

Looks really nice. Pretty expensive. Maybe a dumb question... I looked to see but couldn’t find... what is the optical zoom? I could see the ease and value of carrying this around.

It’s pricey but the lens is a nice prime of 40mm, so there’s no zoom. You can crop though to equivalent 50mm or 71 I think. It’s the kind of camera much like any prime system where you position yourself as best as possible to capture the images you are looking for. It has a snap focus mode that you can for example set to 2.5 meters so if you see something, you can grab the camera from your pocket, power up and grab your shot really quickly. Many street photographers for example manually focus and just develop their instinct.
