Taking stock
Sometimes it's worth being a little retrospective. Where do you want to go next? That is the question that hangs in the air.
First of all I would like to say hello to all of the new subscribers that have joined this past week and it is all thanks to the new Notes tool. If you’ve not checked it out yet, please do take a look. I plan to. use it to write a bit of everything and it might not always be pertinent to my newsletters
or - I do write about other stuff sometimes, whatever pops into my head!Where else can you find my work online?
I have been asked this question a number of times and most recently
was chatting to me on the RP newsletter chat. Where else other than Substack can I see your work? I used to have a website on Wordpress for a long time and then I farted about trying to create a “perfect” site and I got to the point where I was, to be honestly blunt with you, frustrated by the whole exercise. So in the end I decided to upload my images to various places:Alamy (as always, been selling licensed images through them since they launched)
Adobe Portfolio which I set up years ago for a wedding but has since evolved into an ideal portfolio destination for my work.
Instagram I’ve had an account for a long time but seldom spend time on it nowadays, big archive though
Latest shots: A walk along the Kennet & Avon
We parked at the Rowbarge Inn in Woolhampton, West Berkshire and walked along the river in the direction of Aldermaston Wharf. We walked in the direction of it’s flow and it was moving fast, probably due to the heavy rain we’d had over previous days. Many of the nearby fields looked fairly waterlogged but the path thankfully was mostly asphalt, so quite steady to walk on. Whilst the walk started off unfamiliar, very beautiful, we soon reached a point where we stumbled upon a familiar scene, we had been there last summer and it wasn’t far to go before reaching Aldermaston, it was time to turn back an grab a beer at the pub.
The beer I had, was very nice.
Queensbury Jack brewed by Renegade Brewery and I plan to visit them for one of their tours at some point in time. It was very nice, I had two, my Wife had a white wine and soda Spritzer.
Archives: Moody church, moody skies
This was an actual photograph to start with but the sky was not great, I used Lightroom’s AI tools to enhance it. It looks like a great book cover for a mystery drama. The location was Sulhamstead, in Berkshire, not very far from where I live.
A great entry for my Churches Project.
Love the moody church!
