For granted
Today's theme is all about what we take for granted and in these times we are going to learn some lessons from the interesting, irreverent, funny to the really tough
Yesterday we received a text from our friend and personal hairdresser that she won’t be visiting any of her clients for awhile because and not only because of the Coronavirus, she is several months pregnant and needs to distance herself from the world at large. Naturally we are glad she had decided to do that for her own safety as well as anyone else’s.
Then came the announcement at 8:30pm 23rd March 2020 that we were certainly expecting to come at some point. We all stay home.
Of course by the time you read this blog post when it goes out this evening you will all know where you stand. May I thank you if you are one of those key workers. We love you and what you do.
So I guess I am going to get a bit hairy over the next x weeks, z months of time that passes. I am not in need of a haircut but I certainly will be by the time that comes!
We do take silly things for granted though don’t we, as we all expect there to be various services on tap and activities that we do from day to day.
Then there are the freelance style businesses I truly worry for such as:
Wedding photographers
Landscape photographers
Landscape gardeners
Window cleaners
Builders
Plumbers
Tyre fitters
Music teachers
Piano Tuners are exempt as they are “key workers”
Chefs - I know one or two
Kebab vans
Financial advisors
Beauticians and hairdressers
Personal Fitness trainers
Dog walkers
Magicians
Wedding cake makers
Florists
Independent shop owners and restaurateurs
Let’s stop there, I am thinking of more and more but how about those who could thrive in a situation like this?
Copywriters, general writers and journalists
Coders
Designers
Bloggers and vloggers
Online course creators
Online teachers
Online shops
